Dang Thi Khue

Det var tänkt att jag skulle hålla min sista föreläsning om Performance Art - nummer fyra - hemma hos konstnärinnan Dang Thi Khue på torsdagkväll. Men överraskningarna duggar tätt när man är i Viet Nam.

Istället blev det en stort gemensamt födelsdagskalas, för mig och för Dang Thi Khue. Ett tjugotal personer var inbjudna och tillsammans festade vi på nyfångade krabbor och musslor från Hai Phong, tårta, frukt och Champange!
Ett härligt kalas som avslutades med att Dang Thi Khue framförde sitt livs första performance; Costumes and self-select costumes.

Our BODIES are the clothes-hangers in life for various human shapes hanging on. We donot but also cannot disengage ourselves from the costumes as this is arranged by destiny or fortune over every person's duty and fate.

The thing we can self-control and bear all responsibilities is the HUMAN part in each shape. The HUMAN part can be square or round or deformed inside each shape.

It is best if we can select the costumes for ourselves as it will represent the nature of us. I choose the artist's apron since it reflects the best of me and coincide with my will and my soul's habitus.
